چکیده

Background: The tumor size is one of the main factors in treatment cerebellopontine angle (CPA) tumors, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with gadolinium-based contrast agent (GBCA) provides best evaluation. However, administration gadolinium time consuming increasing cost. There a risk nephrogenic systemic fibrosis patients renal failure liver or transplantation. Objective: purpose this study was to assess capability constructive interference steady state (CISS) sequence measuring CPA internal auditory canal (IAC) masses compared postcontrast T1-weighted images (T1-WI). Materials Methods: 118 MR studies both CISS T1-WI 45 IAC were retrospectively reviewed. Results: no significant difference between transverse diameter (p = 0.051-0.06). longitudinal measurement revealed < 0.001) measured on slightly larger than image. median two sequences less 0.9 mm. Bland-Altman plots that differences diameters within limits agreement. Interobserver agreement showed excellent correlation (r 0.994-0.999, p 0.001 by Pearson's product-moment correlation). Conclusions: may be sufficient for assessing masses, which can used interchangeably image as contrast-free option, especially follow-up vulnerable settings administration.

Constructive interference in steady state-3DFT MR imaging of the inner ear and cerebellopontine angle.

PURPOSE To assess the value of a three-dimensional Fourier transformation MR technique "CISS" (constructive interference in steady state) in imaging the inner ear. SUBJECTS We studied 50 normal inner ears (40 axial, 10 coronal) and 10 pathologic inner ears in 60 patients. RESULTS The cochlea, semicircular canals, and vestibulum were visualized in detail. Cranial nerve VII and the cochlear, ...

Detection of acoustic schwannoma: use of constructive interference in the steady state three-dimensional MR.

PURPOSE To compare constructive interference in the steady state (CISS) three-dimensional Fourier transform (3DFT) MR imaging with contrast-enhanced T1-weighted spin-echo MR imaging for accuracy in detecting acoustic schwannoma. METHODS One hundred twenty-five consecutive patients with possible acoustic schwannoma were examined. The accuracy of CISS-3DFT MR imaging in detecting abnormalities ...

MR imaging of cerebellopontine angle and internal auditory canal lesions at 1.5 T.

The high-field, thin-section (3-5 mm) MR imaging characteristics of 49 cerebellopontine angle and internal auditory canal lesions were reviewed. The diverse abnormalities include 20 acoustic neurinomas, eight neurinomas of other cranial nerves (six involving the fifth cranial nerve and two involving cranial nerves IX-XI), seven meningiomas, five subdural fluid collections, four brainstem tumors...

Assessment of internal auditory canal tumors: a comparison of contrast-enhanced T1-weighted and steady-state T2-weighted gradient-echo MR imaging.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Although contrast-enhanced T1-weighted MR imaging is the standard of reference for diagnosing tumor in the cerebellopontine angle, high-resolution T2-weighted imaging may show more details of the seventh and eighth cranial nerve branches, resulting in more accurate tumor volume measurements. The purpose of this study was to compare two MR sequences for their ability to de...

Constructive interference in steady state imaging of moyamoya disease.

The diagnostic accuracy of three-dimensional constructive interference in steady state (CISS) magnetic resonance (MR) imaging was evaluated for the assessment of idiopathic moyamoya disease. Six consecutive patients underwent MR angiography, CISS imaging, and digital subtraction angiography. MR angiography and CISS imaging visualization of the steno-occlusive changes in the distal internal caro...
